I enjoy working with people involved in disputes to help them resolve issues in a way that is not stressful or difficult.
My experience of dispute cases is that the process often becomes more important than the parties involved – that is wrong. I will help you to overcome communication difficulties and mistrust that often happens between the parties involved so that they are able to express their views and not what they believe is expected of them or the views held by others. I do this by creating a relaxed pleasant environment where parties do not feel intimidated.
Career
I took my law degree at Coventry University and became a solicitor in 1978. From 1982 to 2010 I was a partner in various law firms and handled many different cases such as commercial disputes, professional negligence, workplace, landlord and tenant, defamation and crime. My clients have included large corporates, international sportsmen, Local Authorities, and well known musicians.
I qualified as a commercial mediator in 1999 with CEDR and as a community mediator in 2011 with the College of Mediators. I have been a full time mediator since 2010 and have been lead mediator in over 200 cases.
Home
I am married with 4 children and 3 step children. My hobbies are fly fishing, gardening and reading.
